Tech1/2 Diagnostic Service Based in South East England, near Orpington (M25 J4) As part of my increasingly expensive hobby looking after an ageing collection of cars, I've bought myself Vauxhall Tech1 and Tech2 workshop diagnostic machines. They were rather expensive, but this lets me sort my own fleet out and help other people out on a not-for-profit basis (beer money). I have created this page to make it easier for people to contact me about this. I now only offer this service at pre-arranged VVOC, Astrasport, VxON or Club Vox meets, as I was spending a lot of largely unpaid time fixing other peoples cars. Please view the forums and you'll see which meets I'm intending to attend and plan from there. I'm logged in to all of these sites as 'Ian T' and post up my name whenever I plan to attend a meet. Tech1 diagnostic / programming service - (Vauxhall models built between 1989-1997) Tech1 is the standard workshop tool for diagnosing problems in electronic systems on Vauxhall, Opel and many other makes of cars built roughly between 1986 and 1997. I only have the software to diagnose Vauxhall at the moment. This allows reprogramming of several of the standard ECUs, resetting airbag lights and searching for faults. Tech2 diagnostic / programming service - (Vauxhall models built between 1997-2005) I bought Tech2 to keep up as my car collection got younger. Tech2 has all of the features you would expect from a dealership - I have the same ability to introduce keys and remote fobs, diagnose and resolve faults in all systems that the dealers do. I now have the CANdi module that is used to connect to the latest shape Astra and Vectra. What it's probably worth saying here is that I do this in my spare time - I don't have time to do lots of work on other peoples cars, as mine take up most of my free time. Equally, I don't offer email or telephone support as I'm not doing this professionally. If you need a garage, please speak to Vauxhall or a local independent. If, however you are a bit of a DIYer and need something reprogrammed or an airbag fault diagnosed, feel free to come along to one of the meets I'm attending with the online car clubs. Whilst I get approached to reprogramme immobilisers and alarms quite a bit, I'll only do so if the person presenting the car can prove their own ID and that the vehicle belongs to them - if everyone else does that, then the standard security systems will remain secure for all of us. |
