Ian set to work on more wiring and I got on with the dirty stuff.

The Vectra downpipes were cut off at the front of the CAT, and the CAT flange was welded on the end of the flexi.

The GTE front box was then cut down, and the Vectra mid box flange was welded on to the shortened GTE box

The exhaust was surprisingly straight forward on these conversion, as the engine takes the original XE alignment, leaning slightly back, so the flexi clears the lowest part of the floor. My Omega engined GTE had to lean the engine forward, so a lot more downpipe work was required.

Drive shafts were refitted, with the V6 intermediate shaft bracket and custom spacer, radiator and hoses were connected up.

Heater matrix hoses were cut, and joined to the cut off V6 hoses.

Ian got all the wiring finished, and the moment of truth arrived.

Turned the key and it popped a bit, turned again and it ran, but only on 4 cylinders.

Found 2 Dispack leads swapped, so swapped them back, and away it went.

Bit of tidying up required now, Custom PAS and Fuel hoses to be made, Aux belt to fit, coolant header tank to relocate, then refit bumper, grille etc and it's ready for the road.
